Has anyone bought shock absorbers for their mini at a local auto parts store and if so where, or is this something I need to mail order? I know that years ago my CARQUEST had a book that could cross reference shocks by taking all the measurements but when I stopped there last weekend the guy behind the counter thought that would be a cool book, but had never heard of it.

Hey Tim,
Back in the day....I have used Chevy Luv truck frount shocks before on the rear and some kind of motorcycle shocks for the frount. Finding them was harder then dealing with ordering mini ones.
I recomend getting the KYB Gas adjust shocks for a mini. Graham at Heritage usually has the best price, and has recomended them to me also. They seem to be the better return for the $$.
