Morning!

I need to remove my radiator ('67 MKII) as it has sprung a leak.

I was trying to loosen the drain plug to drain the coolant and I could not get the bolt to budge.

It was twisted at an odd angle so I think someone must have had trouble with it before.

Am I missing something? reverse threaded or some such?

I did not want to destroy the radiator getting it out.

Thought I had better check in with the cognescenti before I really reef on it.

Thanks,

Craig

There are a couple of different drains and if the radiator has been in service for a long time they will either be clogged, damaged or corroded to the point that they won't work.

There may be better answers, but if you're going to remove the radiator you don't really have to drain it.

I managed to get it out without draining it and made only a small mess. I took it to the local radiator shop and they fixed the leaks and even installed a new petcock in place of the seemingly unmovable bolt. It is all nicely painted too! Now if I can just get it back in...

That's the way I do it, except I usually make a big mess...
