Thread started in CHAT, resurfaced here......
Friday, Sept. 2, 9am at the Krispy Kreme on Tacoma Mall Blvd, northeast corner of the Tacoma Mall, let's meet for a back-roads tour to the Portland ABFM. Takes a little longer but is much more satisfying. Please join in!

Since we are now dogless, it looks like we will be making the trek to Portland this year. I think we plan to join up for the back-roads tour. Should be fun.
Now just have to figure out what assortment of tools and spare parts to pack in the car for the trek.
Wow! I'm sorry to hear of your loss! I hope the newly found freedom that you both now have will perhaps be a condolence of some kind. This is a little like the two of you being empty nesters.
Enjoy the shade of the tall trees that parallel the track in the early morning hours, perhaps while enjoying the pipe and coffee rituals.....
Best regards,
MSH

Jerry and Noreen, My heartfelt condolences too on the loss of what I assume is the BigWhiteDog. Met him once or twice...

The mid morning ritual in the tall trees is actually a bunch of crabby SAMOANs crawling out from under their sleeping "arrangements", wondering where the *** the coffee is!
Looking forward to the weekend. I'll be piloting Annette Adler's '69 MGC GT to the show and to hopefully the much deserved 1st in class trophy.
See you in Tacoma.

I hate it when works gets in the way of playtime, but I will have to sit this one out...

Made it out to the Prez's place last night and got the club awning and banners to take to Portland.
Sorry you can't make this one, Paule. Catch you next time.

Fierce sunshine baked the Portland ABFM this year. Fortunately, our intrepid SAMOAns found shelter from the burning rays.

More than 700 entrants turned out and, as usual, there was something there to impress just about any car fan.

Some of the most impressive cars, of course, were little ones.

A lot of little ones. I counted 31 Minis on the field and another five or six scattered around the venue.

Ed Sauer, barely visible through the windscreen, had his Mini there.

It was parked next to Dallas and Judy Meggitt's.

Jerry Miller drove his car down from Tacoma in a caravan with five other Minis (and a couple of MGs).

Alan Smith couldn't catch the caravan but did make the show.

And this pretty Almond Green/OEW woodie was one of seven LWBs.

Looking a little farther, this MG was a stunner.

How about this Austin convertible?

Or this TR4 with a Chevy motor?

This old Lotus 11 is a knockout.

And Jerry Miller offered two grandkids in trade for this Jag 120 DHC. Unfortunately, the deal went sour at the last minute when Jerry couldn't provide a clear title to the toddlers.

Great weather, great company, great cars. That's Portland.
