Hi all, It's that time of the year that we do a good deed, go for a drive, and have lunch together! I have talked to Lisa from KING 5 and she has given me the date which is December 6th, 2008. I'm also including the link to Northwest Harvest so you can get an idea of the foods they are looking for.http://www.northwestharvest.org/Events/Food_Drives.htm#whattobuy
Also Don Dixon and I are looking into which route we want to take this year and for the ultimate lunch spot!
Last year SAMOA donated almost 1000 lbs. Chuck says we should donate the weight of a mini! I think thats very doable, maybe even a "Bini"!
Stay tuned, more to come.

If the last stop of our food drive is Northgate we could head up to North City (Shoreline don't ya know) to experience Suni's drive in!

The date is December 6th, and the meeting place this year is going to be on the eastside. This year the plan will be to meet at the shop where I work in Bellevue so we can gather together and have something warm to drink, weigh the food donations, and make our way to our first stop at the Redmond Town Center where we will be able to have our best bet of King 5 TV exposure! From there we will make our way north and then back to the Northgate Mall and then lunch to end our day. Remember, 3 donation stops so bring a little something for each stop.
The meeting place will be Gerber Collision and Glass, 13640 M.E. 16th St. Bellevue, Wa. 98005
The meeting time is 8:00 am for weigh-in and 9:00 am for departure.
Take a look at the link below and see what it was like at last year’s event!

There are about 12 large parking spots reserved for Romio's at the back of the building. Looks like room for 24 Minis if we're lucky and the spots are open when we get there. Don
Count me in for a brand x cargo carrying type of tag a long vehicle. ( with significant storage ability )
Best regards,
MSH

Remember, 1000lbs of food last year! What do you think we'll do this year?
I'll be solo, but that will increase load carrying capacity in the Saab.
See you all then.

We could make a qwick drive through but the right hand drive mini owners will be the ones that really miss out, a nice treat for the passenger though!

question: what to bring
I have access of extra roasted coffee WB
sealed in 5 lb. valvebags.
Does Northwest harvest accept that.??
peter
Hi Peter,
I don't know if NWHarvest does or not, but if they don't, I'll take a 5 pounder! HaHa!
Best regards,

The horizontal road on the map indicated by the pointer is NE 16th St. The meeting place is a bit farther east than indicated...the other side of the road slanting in from the north (136th).
If I remember correctly, the coffee hut is near where the pointer is. Not that I've ever been there.

Fun event! Fourteen Minis and a couple of wanna bes. Beat last year's food total by somewhere near 300 pounds, but, unofficially, we didn't quite get a Mini's worth of food. (Lightest Mini -- early 850 at 1294 pounds.)
Thanks to Tim and Patti for organizing.
