THIS IS NOT A SAMOA MEETING. Rather, it is the first ever:
OPEN HOUSE @ Group 2. Saturday, the 12th, noon to 3 or so and Joe English wants every SAMOA member to know they're invited.
Coupling onto the Alfa Club meeting the same day, we are inviting all interested parties in stopping by this Saturday. You'll have a chance to see what GROUP 2 is all about, visit the Ken McBride auto collection and at around noon Don Kitch will talk about Team Seattle's plans for the upcoming 24hrs of Daytona.*There will be a TV on in one of the buildings for the Seahawk game. Don Kitch would appreciate the attendance at his talk at noon, I know. We will have some snacks and liquid refreshment.
Thanks,
Joe English

Very cool news. If you haven't been out to Group 2, this oughta be a can't-miss meeting. You'll get a look at a great local shop, get to peruse some stratospheric cars in the McBride Collection, and get up close and personal with serious racers. And free food (including doughnuts, probably).
I shot this at Group 2 when they were prepping my suspension ("Getting all the wheels pointing in the same direction," as Ed described it) for the drive to San Ramon for MiniMeetWest a couple of years ago.

Look at this as a warmup to the SAMOA meeting at GROUP 2 in Feb. Don't get to crash the meeting of another car club every day! Maybe the Alfa boys will crash our meeting later....

Ed, you might want to add a note to the original post pointing out that this is an open house on January 12th and isn't related to the SAMOA meeting in February.
Cheers (and confused),

I'll do that. It wasn't confusing to me which is usually a pretty good barometer and as Rodney would point out, since this is in the "events" section it couldn't possibly be about a meeting (sorry, couldn't resist).

Will it be appropriate to invite reasonably well mannered relatives to this open house event or should I wait for the SAMOA meeting at Group 2 in February?

How reasonable and how many? I'm sure it's fine if they come to either event.

I guess since I am a member of both clubs SAMOA and NWARC I should try and make it.
What is the parking like there on Saturdays?

Most Saturdays Group 2 is closed but parking will be at a premium this Saturday. Drive the Mini and you'll be able to fit in one of those spaces no Alfa will fit in.

One of the nice things about Group 2 is you never quite know what you're going to come across there.

The owner of the blue pick-up had to leave while I was off looking at the car collections so the parking lot crowd picked up the back of my car and moved it out of the way! No respect! Don
