Let's make it a block and a half of Minis this year!

Greenwood Knights present the Greenwood Car and People Show.

    Saturday, June 24th. $25 pre-registration.

Registration form downloadable from the site above. Make your check (you remember those) out to SAMOA instead of the Greenwood Knights as it says on the form.

Mail (you remember that) form and check to:
    SAMOA
    C/O George Thompson
    2267 NE 77th St.
    Sewazttle, aka Seattle, Wa. 98115

or hand it to any handy SAMOA'n.

We will pre-load into the show at some un-godly hour, details to follow.

Don, The change from Lisa to George for checks makes sense--all but the "Sewazttle" address. New place in town?

We will be meeting in the Fred Meyer parking lot at NW 85th St and 3rd Ave NW. We will leave at 6am so you must arrive before then (I'll be there at 5:30)

A reminder for those showing Minis. Before you get in the car to drive home, remember to adjust your external rear view mirrors!

Yup. Although only one mirror to adjust.

                Event Summary:

Drive to and from was no problem.

Chris Miller won Best European Car.

As always, an amazing group of cars.

Not the best SAMOA turnout. Two or three managed long runs to get there. Dan, from Auburn, and Jerry from Tacoma, for instance.

Music rates an "OK" but was WAY TOO LOUD.

Noreen and Jerry sold some regalia.

Far too many people tortured their dogs by walking them in the street on too hot a day and didn't bring any water. Bothers me every year I go. Fortunately, PAWs had a stall open with lots of water dishes they kept full all day.

I saw four people take photos of my Mk 3. Not bad. That's about the same number that were taken of Dan's pickup next to my car every couple of minutes...all day long!

Interesting that an event for hundreds and hundreds of cars is held closing down a Seattle main street for roughly 30 blocks and attended by 100,000+ people got no mention in the news that I could find; including, today's Times.

Sure enough, right side mirror had been bumped, it must have been Chuck.

Drive home required a detour via Green Lake to make it 5 minutes instead of 7. Serious kudos to Auburn, Tacoma and Renton residents who made it! Some of you also made the meeting at Walt's that week.

Way to go Chris! I hear Chris has three individual cars that have earned best at Greenwood. Wonder how he'd do at a big show...

WAY TOO LOUD! I was hoarse that evening.

I must have had a dozen and a half folks try on Old Paint. Gave away all my matchbox Minis to the kids. Might have achieved a couple of new members. "How can I get one?" was a typical refrain.

Burned out on car shows but Greenwood is a hard one to miss.

Ben, Glenny and Carl had such a far commute that they stayed in a hotel in town.

We had a total of 9 kids in the van at one time!

Somewhere between 740-774 vehicles on display.

                    Big thanks to everyone!
